Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul holds a clear lead in trader consensus for the November 2026 Wisconsin election, reflecting his two prior victories and the absence of primary opposition after both candidates advanced unopposed in August. Eric Toney, the Republican nominee and 2022 rematch opponent, trails amid efforts by Republican groups to highlight crime lab backlogs and prosecutorial priorities through recent ad reservations. Wisconsin's shift toward Republican support in the 2024 presidential contest adds pressure, yet Kaul's established record and fundraising history sustain the market's implied probability gap. Scheduled general election developments through fall could narrow the spread if turnout patterns or additional spending alter the competitive dynamics seen in prior cycles.
