This market will resolve according to the next UFC fighter to be ranked 1st in the UFC Pound-For-Pound rankings, following Islam Makhachev. If Islam Makhachev remains #1 in the UFC Pound-For-Pound rankings through December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no next UFC fighter to be ranked 1st in the Pound-For-Pound rankings within this timeframe, this market will resolve to “Islam/No Next #1 in 2026”. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the UFC (https://www.ufc.com/athletes).Islam Makhachev’s position as the consensus UFC pound-for-pound leader stems from his 17-fight Octagon win streak, capped by a unanimous decision over Ian Garry at UFC 330 in August 2026 that broke Anderson Silva’s record and marked his first welterweight title defense after moving up from lightweight. Multiple media rankings released after that event continue to place the Dagestani grappler at No. 1, reflecting his cross-division control and recent form against top competition. Other listed contenders such as Alexander Volkanovski, Ilia Topuria, and Khamzat Chimaev have faced recent setbacks or longer layoffs that have kept their implied probabilities low. A realistic shift would require Makhachev to suffer a clear-cut loss or sustained inactivity while multiple division champions string together dominant title defenses, though his current trajectory shows few immediate signs of erosion.
