If the information is not released by that time, this market will resolve according to the figures of the most recent previous month with available data.Recent August CPI data printed at 0.4% month-over-month, driven largely by a 2.1% energy rebound and 3.9% gasoline surge amid ongoing oil supply shocks, establishing a firm baseline for September readings. Trader consensus clusters tightly around 0.4% and 0.5% outcomes as persistent shelter costs, airline fares, and services inflation offset any potential moderation in goods prices. Rising consumer inflation expectations to 4.6% one-year ahead and the Federal Reserve’s impending September policy decision further anchor sentiment, with markets pricing elevated odds of near-term rate action. The October 14 release will resolve the market, with composition details on core components likely proving decisive.
