Recent polling from INSA and Infratest dimap through mid-August 2026 shows AfD leading at 35-36 percent and SPD at 28-29 percent ahead of the September 20 Landtag election, with Die Linke holding steady at 11-12 percent and CDU at 9-10 percent. This consistent gap positions Linke as the frontrunner for third place in trader assessments, reflecting its established eastern voter base and limited volatility. The CDU’s lower support stems from ongoing weakness in the state, while smaller parties such as BSW, Grüne, and FDP remain below or near the 5 percent threshold with little momentum to challenge the middle order. No major campaign events or shifts have altered these relative standings in recent weeks.
