This market will resolve according to the cumulative influenza-associated hospitalization rate per 100,000 population for the United States, as reported for the specified week. If the recorded data falls exactly between two brackets, this market will resolve to the higher bracket. The resolution source for this market will be CDC FluView / FluSurv-NET (see: https://www.cdc.gov/fluview/index.html). If the FluSurv-NET hospitalization rate for the specified week is not released by 11:59 PM ET on the tenth calendar day following the date of the prior FluView weekly report release, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. Note: Only the CDC FluSurv-NET cumulative hospitalization rate per 100,000 population for the specified week will qualify, regardless of estimates, projections, state-level reports, or other influenza surveillance metrics published by the CDC or other sources.**Cumulative influenza-associated hospitalization rates in the 2025-2026 season reached 87.7 per 100,000 population by Week 27 (ending July 11, 2026), according to CDC FluSurv-NET data.** With activity now minimal—clinical lab positivity at 0.6% and weekly rates near 0.1 per 100,000—additional cases through Week 28 are expected to be negligible, reflecting typical off-season dynamics driven by reduced viral transmission in warmer conditions, lower indoor crowding, and school recess. Historical patterns show summer weeks contribute little to cumulative totals, which peaked earlier with H3N2 dominance. Trader consensus across narrow ranges around 80–95+ likely reflects minor uncertainty from reporting lags and potential late detections rather than meaningful shifts in incidence, as official surveillance confirms sustained low-level circulation into midsummer.
