Latest National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts point to an overnight low in the mid-to-upper 60s°F for San Francisco on September 9, driven by weak onshore flow, limited marine-layer development, and mostly clear to partly cloudy skies that moderate radiative cooling. Historical September averages near 56°F are exceeded here because persistent high pressure and light northwest winds suppress the usual fog and stratus that would otherwise enhance cooling. Model spread centers on whether boundary-layer mixing and dew-point recovery allow a dip to 64–65°F or hold near 68°F, with the tight 66–69°F market clustering reflecting this narrow but uncertain range ahead of final evening observations.
