Current NWS and ensemble forecasts for New York City indicate a minimum temperature in the mid-60s°F on September 12, driven by a post-frontal air mass with northerly flow and mostly clear to partly cloudy skies overnight that support moderate radiational cooling. Model consensus shows lows near 63–66°F, aligning closely with the seasonal average of 62.9°F for the date, though minor differences in cloud cover, dew points, or wind speed among runs create uncertainty between the 64–65°F and 66–67°F buckets that dominate trader positioning. Recent observations from Central Park confirm a cooling trend after warmer early-September readings, with resolution hinging on the official 24-hour minimum reported by the National Weather Service station.
