Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to overnight lows in the mid-to-upper 60s for Los Angeles on September 16, driven by a persistent marine layer and onshore flow under a weak coastal eddy amid gradual regional cooling from an upper-level trough. This setup typically keeps minimum temperatures 2–4°F above the 1991–2020 average low of 63.7°F, with morning readings near 66–68°F before daytime clearing. Trader sentiment splits between the 68–69°F and 57°F-or-below bins because small differences in marine-layer depth, wind direction, or clearing timing can shift the overnight minimum by several degrees, while historical September variability and ensemble spread maintain meaningful uncertainty in the final recorded low.
