Lula leads recent state-level polling for first place in Amapá’s presidential first round, including a late-August Quaest survey showing 36% support against 33% for Flávio Bolsonaro and single-digit or lower figures for remaining contenders. This positioning reflects the incumbent’s national incumbency advantage, local alliances with Senate President Davi Alcolumbre, and the political boost from Petrobras oil discoveries announced in the state during the campaign window. Flávio Bolsonaro’s closer showing stems from residual PT-PL polarization and name recognition in northern conservative pockets, while minor candidates remain discounted due to negligible measured support and limited campaign infrastructure in the small electorate. The October 4 first-round date and start of free electoral broadcasts further anchor trader focus on these state-specific trends ahead of broader national dynamics.
