Recent National Weather Service forecasts for New York City indicate a Monday, August 31 overnight low near 69–72 °F amid partly to mostly cloudy skies, light southerly flow, and elevated dew points near 70 °F that limit radiational cooling. Model consensus from the GFS and local NWS guidance shows minimal diurnal drop after daytime highs in the low-to-mid 80s, with a modest chance of evening showers further moderating overnight temperatures. Traders have priced the 70–73 °F bins highest because these values align closely with current ensemble outputs and depart only modestly from the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 66 °F, while stronger cooling would require clearer skies or northerly advection not currently indicated. Updated model runs and the evening NWS briefing remain the key near-term catalysts.
