**Recent National Weather Service and WeatherBug forecasts indicate a mid-60s overnight low for Chicago on September 9, 2026, amid an approaching storm system with an 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms.** Southwest winds of 10-15 mph and extensive cloud cover are expected to limit radiative cooling overnight, while humid conditions and a warm air mass ahead of the front keep daytime highs in the mid-80s. This setup creates uncertainty around the precise minimum, as storm timing and cloud persistence could push the low either below 67°F or into the upper 60s to low 70s. Historical September 9 averages (low near 61.5°F) provide context, but the current warm pattern and model consensus favor values near the market's balanced 49% odds for 67°F or below versus higher thresholds. Updated NHC/NOAA guidance and local model runs over the next 48 hours will refine the overnight minimum and resolution thresholds.
