Recent National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for New York City on September 5, 2026, shows a minimum temperature near 70°F under partly cloudy skies with northerly flow, supporting the market's 92.5% implied probability for the 70-71°F bin. Official observations from Central Park and LaGuardia confirm recent overnight lows in the upper 60s to low 70s amid above-normal early-September warmth, with limited radiational cooling expected due to residual moisture and light winds. This positioning aligns with the National Weather Service's daytime high forecast near 80°F and minimal overnight drop. A sharper-than-expected clearing trend or shift to calmer conditions could allow temperatures to dip toward 66-68°F, though current model consensus and historical analogs for similar setups make that outcome unlikely before resolution.
