Spotify’s current monthly active user base sits near 777–788 million as of mid-2026, with quarterly adds tracking in the low-to-mid tens of millions at 11–12% year-over-year growth. That pace leaves the platform roughly 200 million users short of the 1 billion threshold by year-end, a gap the company itself has aligned with a 2030 target rather than an immediate sprint. Recent earnings have highlighted steady premium-subscriber expansion and AI-driven engagement features, yet these incremental lifts have not produced the acceleration needed to close the distance in the remaining quarters. Traders therefore see overwhelming consensus behind “No,” though an unexpected surge in emerging-market adoption or viral platform moments could still test the timeline.

For the purposes of this market, the 1 billion figure must be explicitly reflected in the "Total Monthly Active Users (MAUs)" figure in Spotify's official Q4 2026 earnings report. This includes both free (ad-supported) and paid (premium) users combined. Analyst estimates, third-party projections, or figures from any other reporting period will not count.
If Spotify's Q4 2026 earnings report has not been officially published by February 28, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "No."
The primary resolution source for this market will be Spotify's official investor relations communications (https://investors.spotify.com).
