Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that under the June 26, 2026 U.S.-brokered framework agreement with Lebanon, the IDF would conduct limited pilot withdrawals from two small areas—one north of the Litani River recently captured and deemed non-essential, and one south of it—transferring them to Lebanese Armed Forces control as a test of conditions-based redeployment. The deal conditions any broader pullback from the expanded security zone, including territory beyond the Litani, on verifiable Hezbollah disarmament and Lebanese army deployment to prevent militant infrastructure, rather than a fixed timeline. Hezbollah rejected the accord as a sovereignty concession, while Israel has emphasized maintaining the buffer zone indefinitely until threats diminish. Ongoing strikes, Lebanese political divisions, and U.S.-facilitated coordination continue to shape implementation prospects through late 2026.

For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River, regardless of if some specified territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice.
The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.
