Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and ensemble models converge on a high near 80–82°F for New York City on September 5, 2026, at the LaGuardia station, positioning the 80–81°F bin as the clear market leader. Northerly winds of 5–10 mph advecting drier air, combined with mostly sunny skies and limited afternoon mixing, are curbing peak heating after recent higher readings near 84°F. This aligns with early-September climatology around 80°F while reflecting minor model spread on exact boundary-layer details that keeps 78–79°F and 82–83°F as secondary possibilities. Traders are weighting the consensus guidance heavily, with implied probabilities shifting only modestly on the latest model runs.
