This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 6 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=zggg If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Forecast models and observational data point to a highest temperature in Guangzhou on September 6, 2026, most likely in the 30–32°C range, aligning with market-implied odds favoring 31°C and 32°C.** Multiple sources, including WeatherBug, WindBorne, Yr.no, and Chinese meteorological summaries, project a daytime high near 30–31°C under mostly cloudy skies with periods of middle rain or light rain and high humidity (around 70–90%). This reflects suppressed insolation from persistent cloud cover and evaporative cooling from precipitation, consistent with the ongoing wet pattern observed on September 5. September climatology shows an average daily high of approximately 32.7°C for the date, but current steering patterns and moisture favor slightly below-normal maxima. Key variables differentiating the closely matched 31°C (27%) versus 32°C (32.5%) versus 33°C (21.5%) outcomes include the exact timing and intensity of rain bands, any temporary cloud breaks allowing brief solar heating, and local urban heat island effects. Official guidance from agencies like the China Meteorological Administration will provide the authoritative measurement for market resolution, with final hourly data determining the peak. Traders are weighting near-term model consensus on moderated warmth over historical averages.
