**AfD leads Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s September 20, 2026, Landtag election in every recent poll, holding a consistent plurality near 36% against SPD’s 29% and double-digit or lower shares for Linke, CDU, and smaller parties.** This positioning underpins the 84.5% trader consensus for an AfD win, reflecting the party’s entrenched eastern strength and the SPD-led incumbent government’s declining support since the 2021 result. Mid-August polling from INSA and earlier Infratest dimap surveys showed no narrowing of the gap, while a televised debate format dispute and AfD internal planning documents on migration policy underscored the campaign’s focus on the frontrunners. Other parties remain marginal in the race, keeping their implied probabilities near zero. The September 6 Saxony-Anhalt vote offers a nearby precedent but is treated as distinct by traders.
