Recent National Weather Service guidance points to a Sunday night low near 59–60°F in Chicago under partly cloudy skies and light northerly flow, with some private models indicating 55–57°F if radiational cooling strengthens after afternoon showers. This reflects advection of cooler Canadian air behind a departing warm sector, lowering temperatures below the prior week’s mid-60s readings and near the 1991–2020 September 13 average of 60°F. Model spread arises from variable cloud cover and wind speeds, which traders weigh against historical variance where overnight minima can dip 3–5°F below guidance under clear, calm conditions. Resolution hinges on the official daily minimum at Chicago Midway or O’Hare, with new model runs and evening observations likely to refine the 53°F-or-below versus 58–61°F bracket probabilities.
