Recent August CPI data showed a rebound to 0.8% year-on-year from July’s 0.5%, driven by higher non-food prices including transport and energy amid elevated global oil costs linked to Middle East tensions, while food prices stayed in deflation. Analysts project modest further pickup for September, with forecasts clustering near 0.6–1.0% for the full year amid weak domestic consumption, subdued retail sales, and property-sector drag offset by export resilience and targeted policy support. Persistent food deflation, core inflation near 1.0%, and volatile commodity inputs keep the distribution of trader probabilities tightly clustered across the 0.4–1.0% brackets, with separation likely hinging on the next monthly release of industrial output, retail sales, and any escalation in energy prices before data publication.
