Recent polling shows the CAQ gaining sharply on the leading PQ while the PLQ loses ground, leaving the two parties closely positioned to finish second in popular vote and seat totals on October 5. Regional support patterns remain central: the PLQ draws concentrated strength among anglophones and allophones in Montreal, while the CAQ maintains broader francophone backing outside the metropolitan area. The ongoing Canada-U.S. trade tensions and voter priorities around the economy and healthcare have contributed to the CAQ's recent momentum in surveys. Tight contests across many ridings and undecided voter shares sustain uncertainty about final placement, with campaign events and further polling likely to influence trader assessments of second-place probabilities.
