Recent June JOLTS data at 7.359 million, below consensus forecasts of 7.40 million, anchors trader expectations for July amid a cooling yet stable labor market. May's 7.594 million reading highlighted volatility, while June's decline—driven by drops in healthcare and hospitality—reflects softer demand without sharp deterioration in hires or separations. With the July release set for September 1, closely matched probabilities around the 7.2–7.5 million bins capture uncertainty over whether the trend persists or rebounds, as macroeconomic signals like steady unemployment and moderating inflation keep the range contested. Market-implied odds price in this base-rate stability while assigning limited weight to outlier moves.

The resolution source for this market will be the BLS Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey report released for July 2026 (https://www.bls.gov/jlt/), currently scheduled to be released on September 1, 2026, at 10:00 AM ET. Resolution of this market will take place upon release of the aforementioned data.
Note: the resolution source for this market will be the official monthly JOLTS report, which reports job openings in thousands of openings. If the information is not released by that time, this market will resolve according to the figures of the most recent previous month with available data.
