Silver prices have rallied sharply in August 2026 to around $68 per ounce, testing $70 resistance after starting the month near $57–58, supported by a softer U.S. dollar, lower Treasury yields, and receding odds of near-term Fed rate hikes. Persistent structural supply deficits, robust industrial demand from solar, EVs, and AI-related sectors, and gold’s correlated strength have driven the advance, though some softening in Chinese import data has tempered momentum. Traders are monitoring the upcoming Jackson Hole symposium and July PCE release for signals on monetary policy and real yields, which remain key swing factors for XAG/USD levels into month-end amid elevated volatility.
