The close positioning of PAM and RNI as frontrunners in the September 2026 Moroccan legislative elections stems from their shared role in the incumbent coalition alongside Istiqlal, which holds advantages in parliamentary seats and government delivery on infrastructure and social programs. The proportional electoral system and 2021 vote allocation rules promote fragmentation, preventing any single party from approaching a majority and keeping multiple contenders competitive. Economic pressures including unemployment and inflation create risks for the ruling bloc, while opposition parties like USFP and PJD remain marginal. Traders price in stable coalition dynamics until closer campaign developments, such as regional polling shifts or turnout patterns in urban centers, could widen gaps among the leaders.
