The Louis-Hébert riding in the Quebec City region enters the October 5, 2026, National Assembly election as a tight contest following the retirement of longtime CAQ incumbent Geneviève Guilbault. New candidates from the CAQ, PQ, Liberal, Conservative, and Québec solidaire parties face off in a district where recent projections show the CAQ and PQ running neck-and-neck amid province-wide polling that places those two parties within a few points of each other. The early stage of the campaign, absence of an incumbent, and shifting voter priorities on housing costs, school capacity, and public services contribute to the balance. Further separation could emerge from regional campaign stops by party leaders, local debates, or shifts in francophone turnout patterns before nomination deadlines close in mid-September.
