Republican Ralph Alvarado holds a clear edge over Democrat Zach Dembo in the open Kentucky 6th district race following incumbent Andy Barr’s decision to run for Senate. The central Kentucky seat, anchored by Lexington, has favored Republicans in recent cycles, with Barr winning by wide margins in 2024. Recent polling, including a June survey showing Alvarado ahead by three points and an earlier tie, indicates a tighter contest than historical results but still positions the Republican nominee as the frontrunner ahead of the November general election. Trader pricing aligns with the district’s partisan lean and forecasters’ “Likely Republican” assessments, while noting potential shifts from turnout or late developments in the competitive environment.
