Incumbent Democrat JB Pritzker holds a commanding lead in the 2026 Illinois gubernatorial race, reflected in trader consensus favoring the Democratic nominee at 95.5%. Pritzker secured his party's nomination unopposed in the March primary and maintains roughly a 20-point advantage in polling averages against Republican nominee Darren Bailey, who won his primary but previously lost to Pritzker by over 12 points in 2022. Illinois's partisan lean, Pritzker's incumbency, and the absence of major recent shifts in voter sentiment or campaign dynamics underpin this positioning. Scenarios that could still alter the outcome before the November 3 election include significant late economic or national political developments, unusually high Republican turnout, or unforeseen candidate-related events.

A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date.
Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.
