This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the William P. Hobby Airport Station in degrees Fahrenheit on 1 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=khou This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button. If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to a high in the low-to-mid 90s for Houston on September 1, 2026, tempered by increasing cloud cover and storm chances from a weak Gulf low-pressure system.** This disturbance, currently monitored by the NHC with low development odds, is expected to enhance afternoon convection and reduce insolation, preventing the extreme heat seen in late August (highs near 98–100 °F). Forecasts from WeatherBug and NWS guidance show highs around 92–95 °F with a 40–50 % chance of showers and thunderstorms, while some longer-range or drier-model runs reach the upper 90s. These conditions create tight clustering around 88–93 °F in trader pricing, as additional cloud thickness or earlier storm initiation could cap the daily maximum a few degrees lower, whereas clearer breaks would allow readings closer to 94–96 °F. Historical September 1 averages near 91–92 °F provide a baseline, but the short-term steering pattern and boundary-layer moisture will determine whether the outcome falls in the leading 88–93 °F bins or edges higher. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours remain the key catalysts.
