Incumbent Democrat Jimmy Gomez and fellow Democrat Angela Gonzales-Torres advanced from California's June 2026 top-two primary in the heavily Democratic Central Los Angeles district, leaving no Republican on the November general-election ballot. The district's strong partisan lean, reflected in its D+28 Cook Partisan Voting Index and consistent historical results, drives trader consensus that a Democratic nominee will prevail. With both finalists from the same party, the implied probability heavily favors the Democratic outcome. A Republican victory would require an unprecedented write-in campaign, candidate withdrawal altering the matchup, or unforeseen legal developments before certification—none of which appear likely based on current primary results and district fundamentals.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
