Diplomatic protocol and historical precedent shape the near-certain trader consensus against a kiss occurring at any Trump-Xi summit. US and Chinese leaders have long followed formal bilateral greeting norms centered on handshakes, with no recorded instances of such personal gestures between the two. Current implied probability of 98.5% for "No" aligns with the absence of any public statements, scheduling details, or cultural signals suggesting deviation from standard summit procedures. Late developments such as an unannounced private encounter, health-related circumstances, or unprecedented personal rapport could theoretically shift dynamics, though these remain outside established patterns for head-of-state interactions.
