This market will resolve according to the next individual to formally assume the position of Attorney General of the United States between market creation and January 19, 2029, 11:59 PM ET. A person will be considered to formally assume the position of Attorney General of the United States if they are appointed to the position by the President and confirmed by the Senate, or if they assume the position through a recess appointment. Acting or interim holders of the specified position do not qualify. If no individual assumes the position by January 19, 2029 at 11:59PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the White House or United States Senate; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Todd Blanche leads trader consensus at 64% for Trump's next Attorney General due to his prior role as personal counsel and involvement in high-profile legal matters during the transition and early second term. Recent developments, including shifts in administration legal priorities and Senate dynamics, have positioned him ahead of figures such as Lee Zeldin at 47.5% and Andrew Bailey at 48%, whose current executive and state roles factor into the implied probabilities. A broad group of other candidates clusters near 45-50%, reflecting uncertainty over nomination timing, confirmation votes, and potential late developments before any Senate floor action. Lower probabilities for names like Ted Cruz and Sidney Powell align with limited recent signals of consideration.
