With nominations closed on August 21, the 12-candidate field now includes prominent challengers Susan Stevenson (current Ward 4 councillor), Kirsten Krose (former federal staffer), and John Feher, alongside lesser-known entrants. Limited public polling, sparse platforms, and early-stage campaigning have kept probabilities tightly clustered near 50 percent for most contenders. Voter priorities such as homelessness, public safety, housing affordability, and infrastructure continue to define the contest.
