Gadi Eisenkot, leader of the Yashar party and former IDF chief of staff, has remained independent of the Bennett-Lapid “Together” electoral alliance formed in April 2026, despite repeated public invitations and an open slot on the joint list. Eisenkot had sought a broader three-way merger beforehand and later criticized the duo’s move as fragmenting the Zionist opposition bloc. His party has climbed in polls through summer 2026, often matching or exceeding Together’s projected seats while competing for leadership of the anti-Netanyahu camp. Key variables include Eisenkot’s stance on coalition partners, Bennett’s explicit rejection of Arab parties, and the October 27 election timeline, with further pre-election coordination or announcements remaining possible.
