The fragmented field of candidates across multiple parties and local movements has kept implied probabilities tightly clustered near 50% for most contenders ahead of the October 9–10 municipal elections. Recent developments, including finalized candidate lists in early August, coalition alignments such as Hnutí Občané pro Budějovice with STAN, and shifts involving figures like Dagmar Škodová Parmová leading Naše Česko, Juraj Thoma heading HOPB, Jan Teplý for ODS, and Ondřej Talíř for the Společně pro Budějovice grouping, have sustained broad uncertainty without a dominant frontrunner. Local coalition dynamics, voter preferences for mayoral leadership within the 45-seat council, and limited pre-election polling contribute to the close positioning. Separation could emerge from post-election negotiations, turnout patterns in key districts, or late campaign developments clarifying viable majorities.
