Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.Forecast models from the National Weather Service and supporting guidance indicate sunny skies, light southerly to southeasterly winds, and minimal cloud cover will drive a daily maximum near 100 °F in Dallas on September 5, consistent with the market’s leading 98–99 °F and 100–101 °F bins. Above-normal warmth stems from a persistent warm-air mass and high dew points that elevate heat indices above 105 °F, well above the 1991–2020 September 5 climatological average of 92.8 °F. Recent observations show similar conditions produced a 100 °F high on September 4, reinforcing trader confidence in the upper-90s to low-100s range while acknowledging minor model spread and the possibility of slight under- or over-achievement depending on afternoon mixing.
