European summits in late 2025 endorsed such a force as part of post-conflict guarantees, though deployments remain conditional on a negotiated peace deal and Ukrainian invitation. Russia has consistently rejected the concept as unacceptable. NATO allies continue coordinated military assistance and training via NSATU without establishing ground forces in Ukraine. Trader sentiment reflects uncertainty over ceasefire timelines, national contributions from willing EU/NATO states, and diplomatic breakthroughs, with scheduled leader meetings or negotiation updates likely to influence near-term probabilities.
