Persistent southerly flow and high pressure across central Texas are sustaining above-normal heat, with National Weather Service forecasts for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport calling for a high near 99°F on September 9 under mostly sunny skies. Multiple model runs and point forecasts cluster between 97–100°F, consistent with the market’s leading bins at 98–99°F (40.5%) and 100–101°F (24.0%). Dew points in the low 70s will support strong afternoon heating once morning clouds dissipate, while light winds limit mixing that could otherwise cap temperatures. Historical September 9 averages near 93°F underscore the current anomaly, yet no strong cold front or widespread convection is expected to disrupt the pattern before the daily maximum is reached. Updated NWS guidance and any late-model shifts in cloud cover or wind timing remain the primary near-term variables that could nudge the realized high within or just outside the current 98–101°F range.
