Recent polling trends underpin trader positioning on the September 20 Berlin state election, with AfD consistently placing ahead of the Greens in surveys from Forsa, INSA, and others through mid-August. AfD support has risen to the 17-19% range, reflecting national gains on immigration and economic issues, while the Greens remain near 16-17% amid stable but limited urban appeal. The CDU's candidate change following Kai Wegner's withdrawal introduced volatility among center-right voters, yet AfD has held or expanded its edge over the Greens in head-to-head comparisons. Linke leads in some late polls, but this has not altered the AfD-Grüne gap. Mainstream parties continue to rule out AfD coalitions, leaving direct vote shares as the decisive metric for market resolution.
