The WI-03 race features incumbent Republican Derrick Van Orden facing Democratic nominee Rebecca Cooke in the November 2026 general election. A June 2026 poll showed Cooke ahead 50-46 in a head-to-head matchup, and the Democratic primary outcome on August 11 reinforced trader focus on her as the stronger challenger in this competitive southwestern Wisconsin district. Cooke's fundraising edge and performance relative to recent Democratic statewide results have contributed to the 67% implied probability for Democrats, while Van Orden's narrow 2024 reelection and the district's recent Republican lean support the 33.5% Republican share. The upcoming Republican primary and any shifts in national midterm dynamics remain key variables that could influence positioning before November.
