Ohio's November 3, 2026, secretary of state contest remains tightly balanced in trader pricing, with Republican nominee Robert Sprague and Democratic nominee Allison Russo each near even odds. Sprague, the current state treasurer, prevailed in the May Republican primary by emphasizing election security and system trust, while Russo, former House minority leader, secured the Democratic nomination on a platform highlighting continuity in election administration. Ohio's partisan lean and limited recent polling on this specific race contribute to the even match, with both candidates drawing on statewide name recognition from prior roles. Developments such as new polling averages, campaign spending shifts, or turnout signals in key regions could widen the gap ahead of Election Day, as could any late focus on voting access or security issues.
