PAN's decision to contest the June 2027 legislative election independently after the 2025 breakup of opposition alliances has positioned it as the clearest alternative to the Morena-led coalition, which includes PVEM and PT and is expected to finish first. Recent mid-2026 national polls consistently place PAN ahead of PRI and MC among non-governing parties, reflecting its stronger regional bases and organizational resources despite overall low opposition support. PRI's weakened standing follows years of declining national performance and internal challenges, while MC remains competitive mainly in specific states. These dynamics have driven trader consensus toward PAN for second place, with limited near-term events likely to alter the relative ordering before the vote.
