Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts indicate persistent cloud cover, high humidity near 90%, and scattered showers or thunderstorms through the night of September 1–2 will suppress radiative cooling over Houston, supporting a minimum temperature in the mid- to upper 70s. This aligns with climatological norms for early September, when average lows hover near 75°F, while elevated dew points and southerly flow limit drops below 74°F. Trader emphasis on the 74–75°F bin reflects these stable atmospheric conditions, with secondary positioning around 72–73°F capturing minor downside risk if clearing occurs earlier than expected.
