Recent National Weather Service and model guidance indicates Houston's overnight low on September 13 will likely settle in the upper 70s amid persistent southerly flow from the Gulf of Mexico, elevated dew points, and limited radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies. This pattern, typical for mid-September in southeast Texas, supports the market's leading 78-79°F bin at 48% implied probability as forecasters project a minimum near 79-81°F. Scattered afternoon thunderstorms may enhance localized cooling in some areas, while heat indices near 105-109°F reflect the overall warm, humid regime. Traders appear to weigh these official forecasts heavily against historical averages around 72-75°F, with lower-probability bins for cooler outcomes reflecting residual uncertainty in storm timing or clearer-sky radiational drops before resolution.
