Recent forecasts from multiple models indicate a highest temperature in São Paulo on September 12 most likely between 23–26°C, aligning with the closely matched market-implied odds for those outcomes. Persistent cloud cover and showers associated with a passing cold front and extratropical cyclone are expected to reduce incoming solar radiation and limit daytime heating, while southerly flow advects cooler maritime air. This follows an atypically cool early September pattern, with September 7 recording the lowest maximum since 2000 at 13.6°C. Historical September averages near 25.5°C provide context, yet current ensemble guidance shows limited potential for stronger warming absent clearer skies. Updated model runs and official briefings from Brazilian meteorological services over the next 48 hours will refine these projections.
