Persistent rain and extensive cloud cover across the Seattle area are suppressing daytime heating on September 13, 2026, anchoring official forecasts from sources including the National Weather Service at a high near 61°F. Southerly flow off the cool marine layer, combined with widespread precipitation and low solar insolation under overcast skies, limits warming well below the late-summer climatological average of roughly 71°F. Model consensus and real-time observations through midday show temperatures climbing only into the upper 50s to low 60s, with limited upside potential even if skies partially clear later. This atmospheric setup explains the market's strong concentration on the 60-61°F bin and adjacent ranges, with resolution hinging on the final official maximum reported for the day.
