Latest National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model consensus position the highest temperature in New York City on September 18 near 80–82°F, aligning with the market’s leading 80–81°F (49%) and 82–83°F (35.5%) bins. A cold front is expected to shift winds northerly, promoting clearing skies and limiting daytime heating after Thursday’s warmer, more humid southerly flow. Official guidance from the New York, NY office calls for a high near 80–81°F under partly to mostly sunny conditions, with limited model spread supporting this narrow range. Traders appear to weigh the strong consensus from NOAA guidance while acknowledging minor uncertainty from exact frontal timing or localized urban effects that could nudge the daily maximum slightly higher or lower. The market will resolve on verified observations once the calendar day concludes.
