Persistent afternoon thunderstorms driven by typical late-summer South Florida instability and high moisture content are the main factor capping Miami's peak temperature on September 13, 2026, even as strong morning heating and heat indices above 100°F support readings near or slightly above normal. Official National Weather Service guidance calls for a high near 89°F with a 70% storm chance mainly after midday, consistent with historical September averages around 89°F and recent model runs showing limited clearing for maximum insolation. Trader emphasis on the 90-91°F bin reflects the potential for brief peaks before widespread convection develops, while lower probabilities for 92°F+ account for storm timing and cloud cover that historically suppress daily maxima in similar setups. Updated NHC and local radar trends through the afternoon will refine resolution odds.
