Traders are weighing incoming labor market and spending data as the market assigns the highest implied probability to a 0.5% September 2026 month-over-month US inflation print, followed closely by 0.4%. Recent nonfarm payrolls and wage growth figures have supported expectations for contained price pressures, while Treasury yields and Fed communications continue to signal caution on the pace of any policy easing. Core goods and shelter components remain key swing factors, with upcoming retail sales and producer price releases likely to refine the narrow gap between the leading outcomes. The distribution reflects aggregated trader positioning ahead of the official CPI release.
