Recent U.S. retail egg prices have stabilized near $2.27 per dozen in August 2026 per Bureau of Labor Statistics data, supporting the market's 51% implied probability for the $2.20–$2.30 range in September. Flock rebuilding after earlier highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreaks has boosted supply and eased prior shortages, though wholesale benchmarks remain far lower at around 36 cents per dozen. Renewed but contained HPAI detections in 2026, alongside elevated feed costs for corn and soy, continue to influence production margins and introduce modest upside risk. Trader consensus reflects these supply-demand dynamics, with probabilities concentrated around recent observed levels while acknowledging potential volatility from disease developments or seasonal demand shifts.
