Kyriakos Mitsotakis holds an 78.5% implied probability as the next Greek prime minister, far ahead of other named options, reflecting his position as incumbent leader of New Democracy amid a fragmented opposition. Recent polls through early September 2026 show his party leading at around 29-31%, with Mitsotakis rated the most suitable prime minister by a wide margin over challengers like Alexis Tsipras. The government’s September economic announcements on pensions, wages, and tax relief aim to sustain support ahead of the 2027 election, while Mitsotakis has reaffirmed completing the full term rather than calling early votes. Low probabilities for alternatives, including Tsipras and various minor figures, align with persistent polling gaps and the absence of unified opposition momentum that could alter the current trader consensus.
