Recent forecasts for Guangzhou point to a highest temperature near 34–36°C on September 20 amid partly cloudy skies and a 30–40% chance of thunderstorms, driven by lingering subtropical moisture and weak steering flow typical of mid-September. Model runs show modest daytime heating under variable cloud cover, with precipitation timing the key uncertainty that could suppress or briefly allow peaks near the historical high of 36.1°C set in 2024. The long-term average high is 31.6°C, and current conditions align with a narrow window for 34–38°C outcomes that traders are pricing closely. Updated guidance from regional meteorological centers will refine resolution thresholds in the final 48 hours.
